We know that effective governance is the
foundation of any successful organisation, and we are proud that
Riverside has been recognised as one of the top performing housing
associations for governance by our regulator.
Over the past three years we have simplified
Riverside’s decision making structures by bringing together a
complex group of housing associations into a single charitable
entity through a process of amalgamation. We called this process
‘Better Together’ because by pooling our assets and resources we
are a stronger organisation, better placed to provide more homes
and excellent services in these challenging times.
Our strategy in developing the shape of Riverside has been
to ensure that:
at the heart of the association is a Group
Board, whose role is to provide clear leadership and direction, in
achieving our vision and values.
accountability is promoted, through involving
tenants and local people in Divisional and Area Boards which drive
local performance and scrutinise services.
all of our boards and committees have clear
terms of reference and statements of members' roles and
responsibilities set out in a Group Framework Agreement.
we recruit and develop board members of
the highest calibre, , with a mixture of knowledge and skills to
carry out their respective roles with the highest degree of
integrity.
we retain a number of distinct subsidiary
companies and joint ventures, to deliver a broader range of
services, and generate additional income for the charitable
activities of the Group.

Riverside complies with the National Housing
Federation's code of Governance.
