The Riverside Tenants and Residents Federation has had a busy
year. There are many changes taking place in the world of social
housing - rent setting, co-regulation,
benefit changes, development, etc. At Riverside the challenges
being posed by these changes pose the need for the Federation to
step up its work.
With
that in mind the Federation discussed and decided on a new
framework of "scrutiny" - the checking of Riverside's service
deleivery by tenants themselves. It has joined with Riverside against the proposed "bedroom tax" by the
government. It has helped shape the report Riverside has
written about itself for all of its tenants.
And the Federation has now produced an annual report of its own,
"By Tenants, For Tenants". This report is available to all tenants
via your local division. It is there for you to take and distribute
to other tenants so word about the Federation gets out far and
wide. It contains an easy to complete survey which we would ask you
to fill in and send back to us free of charge.
