An initiative designed to encourage
older people to live more independently has been shortlisted for a
national award.
Live Time by housing association Riverside has
been shortlisted for a Money Action Net Award.
The awards recognise projects that have proved
successful in helping social housing tenants improve their money
management.
Live Time Project Manager Jane Mindar said: “Live
Time increases the access of our sheltered housing services to
general needs tenants and the wider community. The project looks at
ways of better supporting older people to retain their independence
and ensure that their basic needs are met.
“This includes maximising older people’s incomes
by ensuring they are receiving all of the benefits entitled to
them, raising awareness of affordable warmth and offering them
advice on money management.”
The winners of the Money Action Net Awards are
announced on Monday January 16.
