A stock transfer is where a
council transfers some or all of its housing to a housing
association, such as Riverside.
Riverside has extensive experience in taking
on housing from local authorities. We have participated in several
major stock transfers - two of which have been in Liverpool, one in
Carlisle, one in Bowlee, near Rochdale and North Bransholme,
Hull.
Taking on stock in this manner means we can
improve the properties in order for them to meet the government’s
Decent Homes standard, as well as carry out estate-based
regeneration within neighbourhoods.
After being selected as Preferred
Partner for a stock transfer we can:
- Work with the council and tenants to
develop an offer document, which meets the needs of the
community.
- Work with the local community to
develop their ideas and aspirations.
- Develop masterplans, locally
regenerate an area, and do community consultation and surveys.
Please see the Stock Transfer Case Studies page for more
information on our successful projects.
