Lee Valley Housing Association
Ltd – This involved the transfer of 2,700
properties in Netherley and Valley wards in Liverpool and the
transfer of 21 Liverpool City Council staff. The major
challenge was to improve in poor quality homes and bring them up to
decency standards through the investment of £35m.
Berrybridge Housing Ltd – This
involved the transfer of 3,585 properties in Dovecot, Liverpool,
the majority of which were traditional 1930s ‘garden suburb’
properties. Around 30 staff came over from the council as part of
the agreement. These properties require £47m of investment to bring
them up to Decent Homes standard, alongside work Riverside is
carrying out to provide new housing for rent and sale.
Bowlee Park Housing Association Ltd– This
involved the transfer of over 3,000 (including 1000 empty) houses
and 30 former Manchester City Council staff. We investing over £37m
in order for the properties to meet the Decent Homes standard, have
cleared the 1,000 empty homes and are developing 900 new homes for
sale through our partner Lovell, as well as new social housing.
Carlisle Housing Association Ltd – This was our
biggest transfer and saw all of the Carlisle City Council stock
(7,200 properties) being taken on. It involved the transfer of 4
offices with 269 staff, including a large direct works
department. The mix of stock is of general family and
sheltered accommodation, within both the City and the surrounding
area. Investment of £52m is being made over a 5-year period
in new windows, central heating, and new kitchens/bathrooms, and
estate and environmental improvements.
