Your future, your choice
Heather Payne has been appointed as the Project Officer for
Employment and Training for the Midlands to support Riverside’s
commitment to helping tenants to get back to work.
With a background in developing learning and skills
projects with a range of partners; Heather is currently working
with local organisations and agencies to develop partnerships to
offer employment, volunteering and training opportunities to
tenants across the Midlands, particularly focusing on areas with
high unemployment.
Heather said: “I will be working in partnership with organisations
to help encourage, enable and support tenants. Accessing
employment, volunteering and training opportunities is a key part
of my role and I would also welcome any ideas from people which
could increase those opportunities.
“This could include working with tenants and residents who would be
prepared to be positive role models and help support other tenants
to identify organisations and agencies that could help them take
steps to get back into work. There will be an opportunity for
accredited training for people interested in these roles.”
