"Healthy Homes - Healthy People"
23 March, 2012 in Chester.
At a time of rapid change in housing and benefit law and against
a background of severe economic difficulty, the
Riverside Federation Tenants and Residents
conference could not be more timely.
Gathering at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the historic city of
Chester. the conference will be an opportunity for tenants and
residents to come together and discuss how they can improve their
homes, maintain their health and tell Riverside what matters most
to them.
The day will include debate, fun and education, with national
speakers, smaller workshops and of course the chance to talk to
other tenants and residents from all over the country.
"Healthy Homes - Healthy People" in the widest
sense of the word covers a huge range of issues and there will be
workshops on topics such as;
- Keeping your house warm without spending the earth
- How to cook a meal that tastes good but doesnt cost a
fortune
- The impact of government housing reforms
- Have I got news for you
- How to stop stress ruining your life
One highlight will be the appearance of Carol Highton of the
Brian Shields Trust. Carol's
campaign against the curse of loan sharks in our communities has
achieved national prominence and success.
The conference is open to all Riverside tenants' and residents'
and if you need help applying, filling out forms or contacting us
let a member of Riverside's staff know and they will be happy to
help.
The conference will also be an opportunity for tenants across
Riverside to also meet
Riverside's new Chief Executive, Carol Matthews
(pictured).
