Riverside tenants Sharon and
Marianna successfully exchanged through HomeSwapper and shared
their story with us.
Sharon and her 18 year-old daughter
swapped their three-bedroom house in Langley, Greater Manchester,
with Marianna’s two-bedroom home, avoiding a £12.45 cut per week to
her Housing Benefit.
“I found the HomeSwapper website
really easy to use. The whole process only took about a month and I
would highly recommend this service for anyone who is facing cuts
to their Housing Benefit.” Sharon, a Riverside tenant
Kizzy Scott and her three year-old
son moved from her three bedroom house in London, where she was
under-occupying by one bedroom, to a two bedroom property in
Brighton, avoiding a £17.56 cut per week to her housing
Kizzy said: “I wanted to move
back to Brighton and was looking for a smaller house, so that I
wouldn’t have to pay the bedroom tax. I found the HomeSwapper
web site easy to use. I hope to stay in Brighton – it was the
perfect move for me.”
