You can become involved by getting out
and about with other Riverside tenants and Riverside staff. This
level of activity can include everything from attending a local
meeting, joining in a “focus group”, helping organise a fun day,
participating in a fun day or going along to a neighbourhood forum
or information session.
In the areas where Riverside manages houses
there may be local Tenant Groups who meet to discuss matters
relevant to where you live. The meetings give you the opportunity
to speak up about the way we deliver our services and allow you to
communicate with key staff .
Riverside is organised nationally across
different regions through our Divisions. And each Division has a
tenants’ group made up of representatives from the local tenants’
organisations. These groups can take up matters that are important
to the whole region and can scrutinise the services the Division is
providing [link to Divisional Residents groups].
As well as holding meetings, local and
divisional groups organise a range of events and activities that
help promote a healthy community spirit (such as fun days) that
help improve communities (such as estate walkabouts with staff)
and that help Riverside make decisions that affect your lives
(such as involving tenants in the choice of contractors to carry
out repairs).
Meetings can last for two or three hours so
you will be volunteering a little more of your time but you can
still control the level your level of involvement and you will get
help and support from Riverside and from other involved
residents.
