Integrated Services and Riverside Carlisle help keep
palliative care hospice running

A £1,000 charity cash prize won by Riverside,
Carlisle division in a draw organised by Integrated Services has
been donated to the Eden
House Children’s Hospice, part of Eden Valley Hospice in
Carlisle.
Integrated Services, a specialist procurement
division within Wolseley
UK which aims to help organisations achieve savings on managed
procurement supply chain and construction projects, ran the draw on
its stand at the recent CIH exhibition and asked visitors to enter
by dropping a business card into the lucky dip.
The name drawn out of the hat was asked to
donate the money to a charity of their choice and winner Diane
Hill, major works team leader at Riverside, Carlisle division
nominated Eden House in Carlisle as the lucky
beneficiary.
Diane said: “I am delighted to have won the
money for such a worthy local cause. I have known people who have
benefitted from the excellent care facilities provided at Eden
House and I am thrilled I can donate such a generous amount.”
Eden House is Cumbria’s only
children’s hospice and offers support to children and young people
with life-limiting illnesses.
Katrina Sander, fundraising manager for Eden
House, said: “Through the provision of help in a
purpose-built building, our highly trained staff support the
children and their families with the medical and emotional
challenges that having a serious illness can bring and help them
make the most of life.
“We rely heavily on the generosity of the
public and local businesses and need to raise £3million a year in
order to keep Eden House open. We are thrilled with the donation
received from Diane at Riverside in Carlisle and Integrated
Services as this will go towards enabling us to continue providing
essential care in the community.”
