By the end of 2008 more than £35M will have been spent on improving tenants’ homes including new windows and doors, central heating, kitchens and bathrooms.A significant new-build programme is also underway to replace some of the unpopular properties that have already been demolished. The funding for the new homes has been provided in part by the Housing Corporation and Liverpool City Council. The new build programme which commenced early in 2002 has seen new houses and bungalows built for rent and shared ownership in Lee Park and Childwall/Hartsbourne areas. In total 142 new homes will be delivered against original promises to build around 130, and, in addition to this Lee Valley Housing Association is working closely with the developer to build more homes for rent and sale.
