What is resident and tenant involvement?
It’s a way for
you, our service users, to help us improve by letting us know what
you think. It’s important that you have your say in how your home
and local environment is managed.
What does it involve?

There are a number of ways to get involved to
suit you and fit around your lifestyle. It will only take as much
of your time as you want it to, it won’t cost you a penny and we
will support you with advice and training if you need it.
What are the benefits?

By getting involved you can influence the
service you receive. There’s no-one better to help us improve our
service than our own tenants and residents. By working together we
will be able to decide what we should improve and how. And as well
as helping to improve your service you could also learn new skills
and make new friends.
For those wanting to start with a small level
of involvement, mainly concentrating on their local community
issues, you can:
- attend local tenants’ and residents’
meetings
- attend our annual tenants' conference
- take part in written and telephone
surveys
- read our newsletters
- submit articles on your local area for our
newsletters
- attend your local community events.
For those wanting to be involved at local and
regional levels, you can:
- form a Tenants’ and/or Residents’
Association
- attend training seminars and other
events
- get involved in estate walkabouts looking specifically at your
area to ensure that any problems are being dealt with and that
standards are set, achieved and maintained
- become a Riverside Tenant Federation
Representative for your community
- join our Editorial Panel to contribute to our
tenant newsletter.
For those wanting a higher level of
involvement and a desire to influence the decisions we make, you
can:
- attend Focus Groups to improve our
services
- attend training sessions to develop your
skills
- attend Riverside's Tenant Federation
Conference.
For those wishing to be directly involved in
making decisions, you can:
- undertake advanced training on more strategic
issues
- become a Tenant Board Member
- join the Riverside Tenants and Residents
Federation.
