We are a leading national provider of social and affordable housing, and we have an impressive track record of investing in added-value activities for both individuals and communities to deliver measurable positive outcomes. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is part of our charitable and social purpose and links closely with our vision and values. It is central to our new corporate plan which focusses on providing new homes, connecting with our customers and regenerating the neighbourhoods where we work. Through CSR we embrace our wider responsibilities as a business.
We consider the impact our business has on our customers and service users as well as the wider community. This includes monitoring and improving our impact on the environment, doing business in an ethical way and ensuring that our employees feel safe, valued and involved. Our values ensure that we act as a socially responsible service provider and employer, doing business in an ethical way whilst respecting the environment. Whilst our commitment to being an ethical and social business informs all our activities, we contribute through specific initiatives, you can read about these stories above.

Our values ensure that we act as a socially responsible service provider and employer, doing business in an ethical way whilst respecting the environment. Our approach to CSR aims to integrate responsible practices into everything we do, whilst measuring our CSR achievements through a framework of four key impact areas:
Building thriving communities and a stronger business. Raising money for our nominated charity, as well as local business. Ensuring our community work has sustainable outcomes. Many of our customers are losing income and struggling to sustain their tenancies due to the impact of welfare reform.
We support them by making sure we outline good quality information on their options, and helping them to maximise their income through employment and training opportunities, as well as financial and affordable warmth advice.
Protecting and enriching the natural environment. Recognising the business benefits of a strategic approach to the environment. Respecting our responsibilities.
We deliver energy efficiency measures across our diverse housing stock and achieve environmental accreditation for our successes, including OHSAS18001 (health and safety management), and Silver award from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Responsibly managing our supply chain, treating customers and suppliers fairly and with respect, allying ethical procurement with value for money. We maintain an ongoing commitment to CSR in centralised corporate contracts through tender opportunities.
Every government Selection Questionnaire (SQ) or tender includes our standard requirements on Social Value and CSR.
Valuing and investing in our staff. Unlocking talent by developing current and future employees. Tackling discrimination. It’s our people who make the difference to our organisation through delivering great services to our customers and each other.
Our employee benefit programme is our way of saying thank you. The benefits on offer include enhanced annual leave, flexible working, family leave, various learning and development opportunities, and a programme of wellbeing.
