Estuary office going green

In December 2016 Riverside’s Estuary office achieved OSHA ISO 14001 certification for our environmental management system (EMS). This certification provides a structure for improving an organisation’s impact on the external environment, to reduce pollution and comply with regulations. We monitor our recycling rates and receive monthly statistics from our waste carriers.

We also send all Estuary office shredded confidential waste to a paper mill in Disley to be turned into recycled paper.

In March 2017, we recycled 100% of all waste from Estuary office, saving the equivalent of 1860kg of carbon and two trees. To encourage more recycling, we will soon be removing all under-desk bins and replacing them with centralised recycling bins.

Accompanying this is a ‘Go Green’ campaign within Estuary office to remind colleagues of the ways we can reduce Riverside’s impact on the environment and retain our environmental accreditation, including ‘follow-me’ printing, and completion of a mandatory environmental awareness e-learning module.
