We are working in partnership with Hull City Council and Wates Living Space to create 316 extra care apartments across three sites in Hull: Harrison Park (Hall Road), Cecil Gardens (Hawthorn Avenue) and Redwood Glades (Leads Road).
The £80m development, funded by the Department of Health, will help meet the growing demand for support for people with care needs. This includes working age people with disabilities, mental health needs and dementia; as well as older people.
The one and two bedroom apartments, due for completion in 2016/17, are designed to be adaptable so residents can continue to live within their communities as their needs change over time.
The development will provide a balance of independence and reassurance with residents able to enjoy the privacy of their own home, but have the comfort of knowing care is available as and when they need it.
It is also designed to be a community hub with facilities such as communal garden areas, a restaurant and a hair salon for the benefit of both the residents and those in the surrounding areas.
