You can apply for many of our homes on different websites and through local authorities.

In some areas this is via a waiting list that you need to register for. The other option is through a local choice based lettings partnership which lets you apply for the homes you’re interested in rather than going on a waiting list. Where possible, we advertise our homes through these lettings partnerships where you can see properties from lots of landlords all in one place.

In some areas, a number of properties are also given to people referred by the local authority. This is called a local authority nomination.

How do I apply for a home?

Search for the area that you want to live in below and follow the instructions for the relevant scheme in that area. The process does involve filling in some forms online so please be ready for that.

To apply for a home through this service First you need to view the properties we have available. The adverts provide property, location and landlord details to help you decide which properties are right for you. For more information click “choosing properties” in the left hand menu bar or click here. By ‘bid’ we simply mean to apply for a property. Every week you can bid on a property. This section details how to place your bid. For more information click “the bidding process” in the left hand menu bar or click here. Moving into a property. When bidding closes, the bids received for each property are ranked according to Southwarks allocation policies. You can find out the final position of all your bids by logging on to this website. For more information click “move in” in the left hand menu bar or click here.
  • To bid on a property you’ll have to register your details our Homesearch registration number
  • your date of birth or memorable number
  • the reference number of the property you are bidding for
Properties are expected to attract bids from a lot of people.  You can find out your queue position when you make a bid. This will tell you how many bids have already been placed on the same property by customers with a higher priority than you.
