A £2.7 million housing scheme which will provide in total 26 new affordable homes is nearing completion in Togston, Northumberland.
Riverside, one of the largest social housing providers in the UK, are nearing completion of the first 10 homes located in Broomhill, Togston, Northumberland, with developer Partner Construction.
The development, comprising 14 two bedroom houses, 6 three bedroom houses and 6 two bedroom bungalows is funded by Homes & Communities Agency (HCA) grant.
All of the homes will be available for rent through Northumberland County Council’s Homefinder lettings system. Northumberland County Council have identified a need for bungalows to accommodate the older population and also family houses to stem the flow of younger people leaving the area. In order to meet demand, priority will first be given to applicants with a local connection.

Councillor Allan Hepple, policy board member responsible for housing at Northumberland County Council, said: “Affordable housing is vital for local communities in Northumberland and the completion of the first 10 homes at Togston, close to Amble, is an important milestone.
“We have identified high demand for particular types of housing in this area, including a need for family housing, and we are delighted that the completion of phase one is on track.”
