Mike Jackson House provides safe, supported housing in Aldershot for single veterans who need extra help to get back on their feet. People can stay for up to 18 months while they take part in a planned support programme. During this time, staff work closely with residents to build everyday living skills, improve health and wellbeing, and prepare for work or training.
Support is tailored to each person. Residents are helped to manage their money, access benefits, and connect with health services. The aim is to help veterans gain confidence and skills so they can move on to independent housing in the area they choose and live independently in the community.
Key outcomes for veterans
- Ability to manage and keep a tenancy independently
- Better work readiness or moving into employment
- Improved mental and physical health
- Reduced substance dependency
- Stronger social and support networks
- A successful move into civilian life
