A Bed Every Night, Withington LGBTQ+

What you will find at the accommodation

How the service works

A Bed Every Night (ABEN) LGBTQ+ is a short‑term supported housing service for people aged 18 and over who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community and are experiencing homelessness. The service is designed for customers with complex support needs and provides a safe place to stay while they work towards more independent living.

During their stay, customers are supported to address their individual needs and plan their next steps. Staff work closely with each person on resettlement and housing options, including making applications for suitable longer‑term accommodation, accessing resettlement funding, and becoming tenancy ready. Customers are expected to actively engage with support and to work towards moving on to appropriate independent accommodation within six weeks.

Support is tailored to each individual. Customers will develop a personalised support plan and be helped to connect with other services in the community that meet their needs. Before moving on, customers will receive help to set up a tenancy and will then be referred to floating support where appropriate.

When a vacancy becomes available, partner agencies across Greater Manchester are informed and can make referrals using the ABEN referral form directly to the service.

How this service is different

This service is specifically for LGBTQ+ customers and focuses on creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment where people feel valued, supported and able to rebuild confidence and self‑esteem while moving towards independent living.
