Acre Lane, Brixton

What you will find at the accommodation

How the service works

Acre Lane works with adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems. The service provides both accommodation and tailored support to help people stabilise, build confidence and develop the skills they need for more independent living.

To be considered for a place at Acre Lane, a referral must be made through Lambeth’s Support Needs and Placement Team (SNAP). SNAP will review the referral and, if appropriate, forward the details to the Acre Lane team. We work closely with local stakeholders and referring organisations to make sure each placement has the best possible chance of success, both in terms of housing and ongoing support.

While living at Acre Lane, residents are supported to develop practical life skills, manage their health and wellbeing, and work towards positive move-on options when they are ready.

Getting the most out of our service

  • We work with partner organisations to help residents find suitable move-on accommodation, with resettlement support where needed
  • Our experienced staff deliver in-house courses designed to build confidence, resilience and independence
  • We operate an open-door policy, welcoming former residents back to Acre Lane if they need further support in the future

How this service is different

Acre Lane has been specially remodelled to create a welcoming, homely environment that promotes pride, comfort and wellbeing. We go beyond providing housing by supporting people to build resilience, pursue their ambitions and feel empowered to move forward in their lives.
