How the service works
Artemis House supports young people aged 16 to 24 by providing safe accommodation alongside person-centred support. The service helps residents develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently. Support includes regular key work sessions, personalised support planning, budgeting advice, cooking, cleaning, tenancy management, and other essential life skills.
Young people are also supported to access education, training, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities. The service provides guidance around emotional wellbeing, mental health, healthy relationships, and personal safety. Staff work closely with external agencies to help residents access healthcare, benefits, housing services, and community resources. Family mediation and relationship support can also be provided where appropriate. The overall aim is to help young people achieve their goals, maintain successful tenancies, improve their wellbeing, and make a positive transition into independent adulthood.
The accommodation includes three single-occupancy rooms with shared facilities. Residents have access to a communal kitchen and lounge, which encourage social interaction, peer support, and the development of everyday living skills. Residents in shared accommodation pay a service charge towards the upkeep and management of these communal areas.
The service also provides four self-contained flats, including three one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat. Each flat has its own kitchen, lounge area, bathroom, and laundry appliances, allowing residents to experience greater independence while continuing to receive support when needed.
Referrals
Young people are referred through the Young People Pathways service at Camden Council.
All referrals are assessed to ensure the service can safely meet the young person's needs and provide the appropriate level of support. Assessments consider the young person's support needs, risks, and suitability before a placement is offered.
Eligibility
Young people must:
- Be aged 16 to 24.
- Be referred through Young People Pathways.
- Have support needs that can be safely and appropriately met by the service.
- Successfully complete the service's assessment process.
Accessibility
The building has step-free access at the main entrance. However, residents' rooms and flats are accessed via internal staircases. The self-contained flats are reached via three external flights of stairs.
