Elizabeth Court, Chatham

What you will find at the accommodation

How the service works

Elizabeth Court provides short-term accommodation* and support in Medway for young women aged 18 and over who already have, or are expecting, a child. The service supports Looked After Children who become parents or parents-to-be, and those whose children are subject to care orders.

Referrals come through Medway Social Services or other agencies working in child welfare. You must be 18 or over, have support needs, and already have or be expecting a child. The service is not suitable for anyone who wants to live full‑time with a partner.

While you live at Elizabeth Court, the team works with Medway Council, private landlords, or other supported housing providers to help you plan your move on to more independent accommodation. The service focuses on identifying and reducing barriers so you can move on in a planned and positive way. After you move on, support can continue, with weekly contact for up to three months, if needed.

*The accommodation and housing management at Elizabeth Court is provided by the landlord, Orbit Housing Association.
