Marsh Way House is an Assessment Pathway service for single people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Wakefield. The service focuses on understanding each person’s situation and helping them move on to the right type of longer-term housing.
The pathway begins in the Assessment Centre, which offers 12 units for stays of up to 8 weeks. During this time, staff carry out a rapid assessment of housing needs and provide support to help residents plan their next steps.
Residents may then move into Short-Term Supported Housing, which has 36 units and allows stays of up to 32 weeks. This stage gives people more time and support to find a suitable housing solution and work towards greater independence.
Marsh Way House works closely with the Single Point of Access at Wakefield Council to make sure people get the right help at the right time.
