Rose Brae is an accommodation-based supported housing service for single homeless adults aged 25 and over. It supports both men and women who have complex needs. These can include substance misuse, addiction, long-term rough sleeping, mental health needs, and experiences of domestic abuse.
All customers access the service through the Mainstay system after an assessment at one of the Wirral assessment points. Once they move in, each customer is allocated a key worker and a secondary worker. These workers provide daily, intensive support through regular link work sessions and support meetings held within the building.
Support is tailored to each person and focuses on helping them move forward. This includes practical help with day-to-day issues such as claiming benefits, managing money, and accessing employment, training, or education. The on-site Housing Officer also runs weekly surgeries to help customers with rent and tenancy-related matters.
When a customer is ready to move on, they can receive up to six weeks of support in their new home. If needed, they may also be linked in with other local support providers or referred to floating support services in the area.
