Vaughan House, Surrey

What you will find at the accommodation

How the service works

Based in Guildford, Vaughan House offers supported housing for people who are single, homeless, or at risk of homelessness. We support adults who may have complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health challenges, or a history of offending. Our focus is on helping people build independence and move forward into employment, education, training, and stable housing.

Vaughan House supports adults aged 18 to 65, both men and women, who have a local connection to Guildford or another local authority within Surrey. The service is for people who need support but are able to live independently with the right help in place.

Referrals are made through the Local Authority and local support agencies. People who are sleeping rough are referred via Guildford’s Homeless Outreach and Support Team. Throughout their stay, residents are supported to develop skills, confidence, and stability so they can move on successfully when ready.

Getting the most out of our service

All residents have a resettlement plan. When someone is ready to move on, we work closely with them to help access independent accommodation. Support plans are wide-ranging and may involve outside agencies and local networks, helping residents work towards personal goals and ambitions.

Residents can also get involved in planning social activities through our Customer Involvement Association, ensuring they have a voice in how the service is shaped.

How this service is different

At Vaughan House, we focus on improving health and wellbeing, reducing anti-social behaviour, and helping people rebuild family relationships or support networks, supporting them to break the cycle of homelessness and move towards a healthier, independent life.
