Wilson Carlile House provides short‑term supported housing for men aged 18 and over who are homeless and experiencing a housing‑related crisis. Since 1 April 2019, the service has been part of Connect Manchester, working in partnership with Nacro, the Salvation Army and Sanctuary Housing. Together, these partners offer a coordinated service with access to 163 beds for people who need housing and support across Manchester.
The service sits within Manchester’s housing‑related support pathway. All referrals are made through The Gateway, also known as Manchester Access and Support (MAS). This ensures people are placed in the right service for their needs and receive coordinated, temporary housing and support.
Everyone who moves in is assigned a support worker. Customers meet with their support worker weekly to agree and review a person‑centred support plan. The service uses an asset‑based and solution‑focused approach in a psychologically informed environment. Support focuses on helping people move forward with housing, employment, health and wellbeing, while building confidence, independence and positive links with the local community.
