The Wirral Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP) supports people aged 18 and over who have previously experienced rough sleeping. The service provides temporary accommodation and acts as a “stop gap” between a hostel or similar setting and a long‑term, sustainable tenancy.
Each customer is given their own support worker. The support worker visits them at home or meets them in the communal lounge for one hour each week. Support workers are also available outside of these weekly meetings if extra help is needed. Together, customers and support workers create an individual support plan that is tailored to each person’s needs and goals.
Support is practical and focused on helping people settle into their home, manage day‑to‑day living, and move forward positively. This includes help with budgeting, looking after the property, paying bills, and setting up utility accounts such as water, gas, and electricity. The team also supports customers through the repairs process and can help deal with Housing Benefit on their behalf.
Customers are linked with local agencies to support mental health, wellbeing, and community involvement. The service can also support people if they have contact with the police or are dealing with anti‑social behaviour issues.
There is staff or security onsite for most of the day and night, helping to provide reassurance and safety for customers living at the service.
