New features explained
Learn all about the new Riverside website and what it means for you.
Built to be accessible for everyone
We want everyone to be able to use our website, regardless of their device, ability or circumstances.
Accessibility has been a key consideration when designing and building our new website.
The website has been designed to:
- work with screen readers
- support keyboard navigation
- work well on different devices and screen sizes
- provide clear text and improved colour contrast
- make information easier to read
We've also reviewed content across the site and rewritten it in plain English wherever possible.
Where appropriate, we provide information as both web pages and downloadable documents, so people can choose the format that works best for them.
We've improved how we publish videos, making it easier to provide captions and transcripts.
Our new Accessibility Hub includes:
- information about accessibility features
- guidance on changing device settings
- known issues and planned improvements
- ways to contact us for support or to report a problem
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment and will continue to guide how we design, write and publish content.
Easier to find information
- rewritten in plain English
- organised into smaller sections
- designed to be easy to scan and understand
Better search
Many people visit our website because they need information quickly.
That's why we've improved search and made it available from every page.
The new search experience is designed to help people find the information they need with fewer clicks.
Coming later this year
We're planning to introduce an AI-powered search tool that will allow customers to:
- ask questions in their own words
- receive answers based on Riverside information and services
This will make it even easier to find information when it's needed.
Improving the customer experience
The new website creates opportunities for future improvements.
Over time, we'll explore ways to provide more relevant information and services based on individual needs.
This work will be introduced gradually, helping create a more personal and user-friendly experience.
Privacy, security and trust
We know customers expect our website to be safe, secure and reliable.
Privacy, security and data protection have been important considerations when building our new website.
We've worked to:
- help better meet modern security standards
- provide a secure online experience
- keep information accurate and up to date
- improve content management processes
Our aim is to provide a website customers can trust.
One Riverside experience
We're working towards a more consistent experience across Riverside's digital services.
Over time, customers will see a more familiar look and feel across different websites and online services.
This will make it easier to move between services and complete tasks online.
Our goal is simple: to make dealing with Riverside online as easy as possible.
This is just the beginning
We're proud of our new website, but we know there is always more to do.
This website marks the start of a new chapter for Riverside's digital services.
We'll keep listening, learning and improving to make sure the website continues to meet the needs of our customers and communities.
