The Regulator of Social Housing upgrades Riverside from a G2 to a G1

The Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) has today announced that, following an In-depth Assessment, it has upgraded Riverside to a G1 (the highest governance rating). This means that Riverside is fully compliant with its governance requirements. This follows an interim G2 grading in 2022, awarded immediately after the merger with the G2 rated One Housing Group. This reflects standard practice following a merger of this nature.

We are delighted that the RSH has recognised all of the work and progress that Riverside’s Board, Executive Team and colleagues have made to ensure that we are a well-run organisation with a clear social purpose which puts customers first.

The RSH has kept our grading for viability at V2 – a compliant grade – which is normal for housing associations who build a substantial number or new homes each year, given current economic and housing market headwinds. It is vital that we continue to build desperately needed new affordable homes during a housing crisis, balancing this with investment in the quality and safety of our existing homes and communities, as our means allow.
