Find guidance on selling your shared ownership home, buying more shares (staircasing), re‑mortgaging, name changes, subletting rules and your right to manage.
Selling your home
You can sell your shared ownership home at any time.
If you own 100% of your home:
You can usually sell it on the open market through an estate agent. You may need formal consent or an LPE1/management pack from Riverside.
Your solicitor should contact Riverside to confirm our requirements.
If you do not own 100% of your home:
Under the terms of your lease, Riverside must give formal consent to the sale of your property.
Please contact us using the online form as soon as you decide to sell so we can provide further information.
Guidance and requirements
There are several requirements for us to give consent to the sale, known legally as a ‘lease assignment’.
We charge an administration fee to both the buyer and the seller for this service.
