How we help at Cangle Foyer

Located in Haverhill, Suffolk, Cangle Foyer provides supported housing for young people aged 16-to-25 who are homeless and vulnerable.

Our services help young people, as well as young parents, with housing related support in addition to help and advice around substance misuse, mental health and relationships.

 

You’ll find:

• Single rooms, some with en-suite and some with communal bathrooms, kitchen facilities, with one-bedroom move-on flats and self-contained flats for single parents

• Emergency bed space for single young people via referring agency and local authority

• One-to-one tailored housing and Support Plan developed with you, with regular meetings

• Staff team available 24/7

• Counselling room and counsellor available

• Life skills courses, helping you secure and maintain a tenancy; money management such as budgeting skills and how to access debt advice

• Signposting to specialist agencies for relevant, additional support for help with drug, alcohol or mental health problems

• In-house Job Club, with links to Job Centre Plus, West Suffolk College and partnering organisations

• Support to identify training, education, employment and voluntary work opportunities

How it works

Cangle Foyer is open to the homeless, or those at risk of homelessness, with low to medium support needs, aged 16 to 25. We accept self-referrals, agency referrals and Local Authority referrals.

You’ll then be helped to find long-term accommodation via lettings, housing associations and private landlords, with follow-up tenancy support.

Getting the most out of our service

• We aim to develop your independence and move you back into the community and employment in a staged programme with move-on flats and follow-up support, including help setting up utilities and obtaining essential furniture. 
• You can access courses, including the Freedom Programme and Anger and Wellbeing Programme.
