How we help at Coupals Court
Based in Haverhill, Suffolk, Coupals Court offers supported housing to young parents who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and who have housing related support needs.
We offer a friendly, caring environment and work with you to develop life skills and self-esteem, alongside practical support to move on to independent living.
You’ll find:

Self-contained one and two bedroomed flats with own kitchen and bathroom, and bedsits with separate kitchen and bathroom

Help to identify your individual support needs, as well as education, training and employment opportunities
- Individual support with life skills, such as Shopping on a Budget sessions, parenting skills, cleanliness, and accommodation maintenance

Signposting to the relevant agency for any additional support including mental health, substance misuse or relationship issues
How it works
All referrals are via the Local Authority, although you can pick up an application from the scheme and self-refer; all applications are assessed by an independent allocation panel.
We work with local housing associations and private landlords to help you move-on to suitable accommodation. You’ll then receive follow-up tenancy sustainment support.
Getting the most out of our service
- You can access courses, including the Freedom Programme to help you identify the signs and effects of domestic abuse, safety planning, and to help to set goals for the future.
- We’ll support your resettlement, with bespoke activities to build confidence and resilience.
- We’ll help with your CV and with your job search; you can access a training module which includes money management, health and well-being, and support with training and education.
