Fire door inspections are taking place now

You may have already noticed that our teams have started to inspect communal doors, however as of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, it is a legal requirement for all flat entrance doors in buildings above 11m to be checked annually.

So, if you hear our team knocking, please let them in! They will be identifiable with their Riverside ID card, and we promise there will be minimal disruption to your day!

We are required to check that:

  • Doors have not been replaced with non-fire rated doors.
  • Letterboxes are firmly closed and in good condition.
  • There is no damage or defects to the door or frame.
  • Any glazing is in good condition.
  • All hinges are in good condition.
  • Any intumescent strips (reduces the spread of fire or smoke from one area to another) and smoke seals are in good condition.
  • Gaps around the door are not excessive.
  • There is an effective self-closing device that fully closes the door from 15 degrees.

We appreciate you working with us on this.
