We currently have over 90 apprentices in the business, and we are looking for this to grow significantly over the next 3 years.
Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is the perfect blend between learning and earning – it’s a real job, with a real income, and allows you to get into work but at the same time work towards a qualification that is nationally recognised and designed specifically for your chosen profession.
By learning on the job, you’ll be able to explore new possibilities and shape your career the way you want to. You will be able to develop your skills, grow in confidence and get your career off to a great start with Riverside. We offer professional development across a wide range of areas from care, housing management through to accountancy and digital roles.
GROW
Our innovative GROW (Giving Real Opportunities for Work) programme is part of our commitment to help customers gain employment and find their dream job.
Our aim is to support those with lived experience of homelessness, the criminal justice system, mental ill-health or substance misuse to find fixed term employment. Helping those in the role to improve their skills, build confidence and develop workplace skills for the future. Not only that, but our GROW colleagues are enhancing the everyday by supporting customers with their own relatable lived experience – helping those going through what they have been through. Making real connections and providing guidance and support like no one else can.

Graduates
We are a member of the GEM programme which is a tailored scheme specifically designed to turn graduates into future housing sector leaders. With well-established links with the Chartered institute of Housing, International Housing Partnership and Government departments, The GEM Programme offers a wide range of jobs and intensive learning experiences in the housing sector across the country and even internationally!
We also offer opportunities for those already working within Riverside to develop their talents and career prospects through offering a “graduate or equivalent” route called Talent in House.
We offer work opportunities that provide responsibility, variety and challenge, right from the start. GEMs have the chance to gain a CIH level 4 qualifications, work in a role with real value, take part in our unique GEMshack workshops and shape the future of Housing!
Volunteering
Our volunteer roles are varied, challenging and rewarding and our volunteers really enjoy being able to make a valuable contribution and a positive impact on people’s lives.
