Flagship development shortlisted for ‘Best New Development in the North’ award

One of Riverside’s affordable home developments has been shortlisted for a prestigious First Time Buyer Readers’ Award 2017.

Eardley Park in Congleton has been shortlisted for ‘Best New Development in the North’ category. Riverside Home Ownership is competing against three other contenders.

This category is a new addition to the usual 15 awards roll. It recognises the increase in housebuilding in the North and the exceptional range of new homes that are accessible to first-time buyers.

In its eighth year, the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards celebrates the aspirational lengths that housebuilders go to help people buy their own home. People have got until April 10 to vote for Eardley Park by vising the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards website. Winners will be announced on April 21 at an awards ceremony in London.

David Robinson, Riverside’s Home Ownership Business Partner, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted, especially since this is the first time there has been an award specifically for Northern developments. It is great that the team’s hard work has been recognised, and we hope it will be great news that we win.”

The flagship development in Cheshire has 84 affordable homes with 44 properties available through shared ownership. The mixture of two or three-bedroomed properties gives first-time buyers the chance to buy a home in a highly desirable part of the North West that command high property values, which otherwise would be out of reach for many purchasers. A two-bedroom house is priced at £140,000 and a three-bed property is £170,000.

Purchasers at Eardley Park buy the share they can afford and pay a reduced monthly rent on the remainder, with the option to own outright in the future. All properties include high-quality fixtures and finishes throughout.
