Our employment and training service  has recently been expanded to cover a number of areas in which Riverside operates. Riverside has been delivering the service in Merseyside since 2010 and has helped more than 400 people secure employment.

Dawn Lanham, who is responsible for delivery of the service in Hull, the North East and Greater Manchester, commented ‘Riverside is committed to revitalising communities and we are helping people to access job opportunities through our supply chain and with a range of local organisations’.

The Riverside team are experienced in helping people who have been out of work for some time and need some help in securing a job or training opportunity. The team have established Job Clubs and are able to help people develop their job search and application skills through tailored one to one support.

Charlotte Kennedy assists in delivering the service in Hull and has witnessed the impact that the help she provides has on individuals. Charlotte said ‘Many people don’t realise how much experience they actually have. In the short time I have been with the team I have helped people with their CVs, job applications and preparing for interviews. It’s amazing to see people secure apprenticeships, jobs and training after I have helped them’.

Brian Gates, Community Development Manager & HR Support at Evolve, Riverside’s in-house repairs team said

“Evolve are committed to employing apprentices and supporting the apprenticeship movement. We have recently provided apprentice contracts to two local lads, Kyle Beacock and Scott Boothby.

“They have joined a recently employed local team working on the Bramsholme estate learning their crafts by carrying out tasks ranging from day to day maintenance repairs to complete whole house home improvement works. Both apprentices will attend college at Hull Training until they are qualified. They have a great future ahead of them.”
