Hull businesses offered rent-free premises

Health, wellbeing and beauty therapists seeking a new business venture in Hull are invited to submit a proposal for access to a rent-free treatment room.

In partnership with Hull City Council, Riverside and Wates Living Space Homes are building three extra care facilities across the city – Harrison Park at Hall Road, Cecil Gardens at Hawthorn Avenue and Redwood Glades at Leads Road.

The schemes are designed for people with a level of care and support needs, but will also act as a community hub with communal garden areas, restaurants and hair and beauty salons open to both residents and the wider community.

In return for rent-free premises, successful candidates will offer training opportunities that lead to a national recognised qualification, or provide work placements for students from surrounding colleges and training providers. In addition, their business plan must offer discounts to residents and special deals for all.

Riverside’s Project Manager Sarah Knapp said: “This is a fantastic business start-up opportunity for somebody in the early stages of their career or for a well-established therapist looking to branch out and become their own boss.”

The wellbeing suites are available at:

  • Harrison Park (opening soon)
  • Redwood Glades (opening July 2017).
