An area of North Bransholme was transformed into a seaside resort for the its 10th annual beach day.
The popular event saw more than 1,500 people enjoying the summer sun with 40 tonnes of sand brought in and laid out as a beach for children to enjoy.
Lord Mayor Anita Harrison, ward councillor for North Bransholme, said she was delighted at the turnout.
She said: “All of what has been done here is for the kids. There is so much going on – sand for them to play in, donkey rides and other free rides for them to go on.
“It has grown every year and got bigger and bigger.”
The event is organised by United Residents of Bransholme area North (URBaN) with assistance from Riverside and Evolve, providing the sand, vouchers for competition winners and a surprise limo ride for the competition winners.
The Worx stakeboarders were also on hand to provide coaching and demonstrations on the new skate park.
