I left home at the age of 13 so I had to learn to be independent from a young age. I was struggling to look after myself, and my dog, with very little money. I started working as a Big Issue vendor during my time living on the streets.
I moved into The Crossings and felt very welcome… and so did my best friend, my dog!
Since arriving here I have been volunteering at The Crossings’ community café. It helps me meet new people and have a laugh at the same time as learning new things.
With the help of support staff and my friends, I was in the right frame of mind to move on in the right direction.
I’m now moving on from The Crossings. I’m nervous but relieved that I now have a home of my own. I’m sure it will be a safe and happy place to live, but I still want to volunteer at the café when I can.
In the future I hope to visit my Dad who lives abroad. I also want to reconnect with more of my family members I had lost touch with too.
I hope to be settled and living a healthy life. I’m looking forward to the future, who knows what it will hold!
