London Scrutiny Panel Report

The Riverside London (One Housing) Residents Scrutiny Panel have completed their report on the Resident Voice inspection and here are their findings:

Thank you to everyone who returned our survey about this. It provided the evidence needed to see what Riverside needs to do to involve more residents. We asked you how One Housing was listening to you and then recommending ways this should be improved.

Our survey of residents showed that 90% felt they did not have any influence on their housing services and the One Housing needed to listen to and respect their views a lot more.

Our main recommendations were that:

  • There needs to be a lot more ways for residents to have real influence in shaping the services we get;
  • Riverside needs to communicate with residents a lot more effectively;
  • Riverside departments need to work together more so they can be more helpful to residents;

In conclusion, Riverside need to:

  • Build trust and teamwork with residents – respect and listen to residents
  • Clear paths for resident influence – set up an easy way for residents to report issues, get updates and see the impact of their feedback.

What Next?

Our report has been taken up by the Riverside residents group responsible for designing and implementing this new Resident Influence. This is now being considered by the committee responsible and hopefully will be agreed by the Board.”
