#OneWish to end homelessness this Christmas

This Christmas, we should take some time to reflect on how fortunate we are to have a roof over our heads. People lose their homes and end up on the streets, often through no fault of their own, so it’s important that we offer compassion, thought, and good wishes to those without a home during the colder months this year.

Riverside offers housing and support to vulnerable people, including those who have experienced homelessness after leaving the armed forces, or finding themselves unemployed. We help people find temporary housing to help get their lives back on track, whether it’s following a family breakdown, health difficulties or problems with alcohol or other substances.

We run night shelters where people have access to a bed for the night, as well as specialist centres offering pre-employment training  and rehabilitation services. Not only do we house people within our supported housing services, we help transform their lives.

We have asked some of our customers who live in our Care and Support services, plus guests from organisations we work with, and a couple of familiar Riverside faces one question:

If you had one wish that could help homeless people this Christmas, what would it be?

The social media campaign kicked off last Monday (13 December) and every day up until Christmas Day you will find our customers sharing their wishes via our customer involvement feed, Get Connected. Visit www.facebook.com/GCRiverside or follow @GCRiverside on Twitter #OneWish.
