We’re really pleased to have won a top award at the North West Energy Efficiency Awards last week.
The awards celebrate energy efficiency schemes and encourages best practice within the energy and housing sectors.
Riverside won the Regional Vulnerable Customer Support Organisation of the Year award with Switchee, for showing a commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable people through energy efficiency.
Switchee smart thermostats
Last year Riverside launched a pilot of Switchee smart thermostats in some of our properties in North and Liverpool City Region. Around 450 devices have now been installed with a further 1,500 planned.
Switchee is a smart thermostat which enables customers to easily control their heating and hot water, reduce energy use and bills, and communicate directly with us through the messaging feature. The technology also provides data and insights to help us identify and complete repairs before they become larger problems, reduce instances of condensation, damp and mould, and prevent winter boiler failure.
The initiative is part of our sustainability agenda, and one of the ways we’re investing in our repairs and maintenance services to improve customer experience and satisfaction.
Brilliant work by our Affordable Warmth team
Our nomination focussed on the brilliant work our Affordable Warmth team has done with Switchee in the last six months, proactively identifying and supporting customers at risk of fuel poverty using the insight from the Switchee device.
As part of the nomination, a powerful case study was outlined, in which one of our Affordable Warmth Officers went above and beyond to help a customer who was showing as high risk of fuel poverty.
