In June 2014 Pauline retired from her role as Deputy Chief Executive and Corporate Director at Hull City Council. Previously, she worked in Nottingham and Liverpool both for the NHS and Local Government. She has led multi million pound regeneration projects and programmes such as New Deal for Communities, Housing Market Renewal, and Building Schools for the Future, Hull Extra Care Housing PFI scheme and Economic Development. Her role as Director of Regeneration in Hull included leadership of the Council’s 26,000 housing stock, repairs and maintenance service and heading up the successful bid for City of Culture 2017.

Pauline has a Master’s degree in Public Health and has worked across education, housing, health and regeneration during her 33-year career.

Pauline is an Honorary Member of the Faculty of Public Health. She spent a number of years as a school governor and was a Non–Executive Director of Wirral Primary Care Trust. She is currently a member of The Guinness Group Strategy and Performance Committee and also Derbyshire Health United.

Pauline acts as Vice Chair of the Riverside Group Board and is also Chair of the Governance & Remuneration Committee.

Terrie Alafat

Terrie Alafat was until recently the chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH), the independent voice for housing and the home of professional standards. Before joining CIH in 2015, Terrie was director of housing in the then Department for Communities and Local Government, with overall policy responsibility for the supply and management of housing across all tenures, housing growth, and homelessness prevention and support. As part of this, she also led on sponsorship of the Homes and Communities Agency. She has worked in the civil service covering various housing policies and programmes since 2003. Her academic background is in social policy and research.

Terrie was given a CBE in 2013 for services to homeless people.

Terrie will be joining the Riverside Group as its Group Chair on 1 April 2020. She also serves as a trustee on the Boards of Crisis, Nationwide Foundation and Hestia where she is also Chair and has recently taken on the role of independent Chair of the Mears Customer Scrutiny Board.
