Flooding in Cumbria

If you are a Riverside customer affected by recent flooding in Carlisle and returning to you home be aware that the electrics and gas boilers may not be safe.

Please do not use your boiler until we have checked it out and made sure it is safe to use. 

Extensive flooding across Cumbria has left many people homeless, particularly in Carlisle. Our team are working closely with the emergency services and council services to provide help and support to those affected.

If you are a customer whose home has been affected by flooding  and you have been evacuated please let us know by calling 0345 111 0000.

  • We may not be able to access flooded areas until authorised to by the Emergency Services.
  • Contact your own Insurer if you have loss or damage to personal items.
  • Under no circumstances use any electrical equipment if they are plugged into sockets or they have been under the water level.

BBC Radio Cumbria and CFM Radio are keeping a 24 hour information service running which has great information…keep listening for information about your area.

Cumbria Community Foundation have launched an appeal to raise funds to support the individuals and communities devastated by the December flooding and storms in Cumbria.

Grants for charitable purposes will be distributed to relieve hardship, which can help with cleaning up, emergency repairs, clothing, food and drink, heating and heating equipment, child care equipment and basic furniture
