Riverside Sign Up to Homes for Cathy Commitments

Riverside are delighted to announce that ahead of the Homes for Cathy conference, we have signed up to the Homes for Cathy commitments.

Homes for Cathy is a national group of housing associations working together to end homelessness. There are nine commitments around preventing and ending homelessness which members sign up to and these have been devised with Crisis as part of their Plan to End Homelessness.

Riverside are continually working to ensure that our policies and practices meet the commitments across all our business streams. We are also signed up to the Commitment to Refer – a voluntary housing association commitment to support Duty to Refer in the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, where public bodies have a duty to refer anyone they think may be homeless or threatened with homelessness.

John Glenton, Riverside’s Executive Director of Care and Support is Chair of the National Housing Federation’s Homelessness Steering Group.  On signing up John said “I am delighted to be signing up to Homes for Cathy as I am passionate about ending homelessness. This Group is important in pushing housing associations to do more to tackle homelessness and at Riverside we are committed to achieving this too”.
