Riverside Community Safety Officer, Chris Hemlin has won an Outstanding Contribution to Enhancing Community Safety award for his work in the Sefton area of Liverpool.
Chris received the award yesterday (21 February) from Jane Kennedy, the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner, for his outstanding contribution to improve community safety in South Sefton. Working closely with the police to provide a multi-agency approach to tackle anti-social behaviour such as neighbourhood disputes, serious threat assessment, firearms discharges and organised crime groups in the area.
Joining the initiative two years ago, Chris is helping to reduce the number of vulnerable victims in the area, by providing support to victims, collating information and also assisting the police to engage with hard to reach members of the community.
Gillian Hunt, Community Safety Team Leader said: “Well done to Chris, it’s great that he has been recognised for the hard work he does within the Sefton area.
“Working with multiple agencies forms part of our approach to help make sure customers and the local community in all our areas have a pleasant and safe place to live.”
