Doncaster Fun Run event a success

Riverside Doncaster Domestic Abuse service organised a successful 5k event to raise money to create a sensory garden for the women and children they support.

The event took place on Wednesday 16 August around Cantley Park with support from Church Housing Trust, Tesco Community, National Community Support (NCS) and Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

Doncaster Fun Run

Staff at Victoria House in Doncaster have so far raised a staggering £1,625.00 with donations still coming in.

The money will be used to create a children’s sensory garden within Victoria House which will provide opportunities for children who access the service to play, express themselves and help build positive family relationships in a calm surrounding after experiencing trauma.

Victoria House gives refuge to people fleeing domestic abuse and supports them to move on to an abuse free life. With safe, secure housing within Victoria House and in dispersed locations, the service supports and empowers those at risk of domestic abuse.
