Employment opportunities for Willow Brook extra care

We are are developing 79 apartments for the delivery of extra care housing in Washington Sunderland, which is opening in July 2016.

The one and two bedroom apartments are designed to be adaptable so people can continue to live within their communities as their needs change over time. This inspirational building design uses the latest technologies and innovations to support choice, well-being, inclusivity and confidence in the building environment so promoting independence, respect and dignity.

We are pleased to offer facilities on the site of our extra care scheme in Washington for the opportunity to work with a local business owner or training provider to provide either or both hairdressing and well being facilities

We are offering a custom built hairdressing unit, as well as a separate therapy suite which we envisage could be used for a range of activities such as beauty therapy.

Riverside has a strong track record of working with local providers to deliver a range of services to our customers.  We are now looking for organisations or an individual with a desire to:

  • Deliver an excellent service to our customers
  • Provide a social return element through offering training opportunities onsite through the development or extension of existing training partnerships with local colleges and training providers
  • Business start-up opportunity with rent free facility – for an agreed period (*rates and utilities are applicable)
  • Create and sustain job opportunities for local people

Provider responsibilities:

  • Specialist waste responsibilities
  • Insurances

  • Day to day cleaning of dedicated space
  • Trainees and training provision
  • Prepared to be DBS checked
  • Telephone / Own booking system
  • Own tools equipment

There is an expectation that:

  • Discounts are provided to customers
  • Provision of a trainee/apprenticeship opportunity working towards a nationally recognized qualification or provision of work placements in association with the local college to increase employability and skill sets amongst students.
  • Ability to work with customers with a range of care needs
  • Special discount days open to the wider community
  • Provider will replace any damaged / missing inventory item when license finishes
