The Wirral Rough Sleepers Accommodation Programme (RSAP) service provides intensive, tailor-made, tenancy support and accommodation on Assured Shorthold Tenancies for people aged 18+ that have previous experience of rough sleeping.
We provide our customers with a temporary home and are the ‘stop gap’ between a hostel or similar and a sustainable tenancy.
We provide support with things like:
- Property Pool Plus
- Budgeting
- Taking care of their home.
- Help with paying bills, setting up accounts their water, electricity, gas providers etc.
- Helping them through the repairs process.
- Linking them in with local agencies to help with things like mental health and integrating into the local community.
- Supporting them through the process if they have any issues with the police or any anti-social behaviour.
- Helping to deal with Housing Benefit on their behalf too.
Customers each have their own support worker who will visit them in their home or meet them in the communal lounge for one hour per week. The support worker is available to help outside of this one-hour meeting time. Customers all receive individually tailored support plans that they work on together with their support worker.
The service is managed mainly from the Dispersed office in Birkenhead and the onsite office at the RSAP.
The service is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday we are closed on bank holidays.
There is staff or security onsite at the service 23 hours per day.
