Care and support conference update

Riverside Care and Support held a Customer Involvement Day, attended by more than  100 staff and customers.

Care and Support customer Stephen Wall is the overall involvement winnerThe theme was Change, Challenge, Opportunity and brought together customers  from Retirement Living, and Care and Support schemes. 

Léann Hearn, now Executive Director of Shared Services at Riverside, spoke about the challenges and opportunities that arise within Care and Support. 

Workshops covered equality and diversity, money matters, volunteering, isolation and  loneliness, and how we measure performance. 

Customer Involvement Advisor Tonia Punter said: “This day was an opportunity for our customers to see first-hand how being involved makes a difference. 

“It gave us a chance to share the range of opportunities there are to make a difference. For example, scheme inspectors spoke about their involvement with inspections and the scrutiny
panel had more than 10 applications to join them. 

“We have training opportunities for all customers so they can gain skills to improve their overall well-being while helping us shape our services.”
